Sponsors
include Anna Point Marina, Bass Pro Shops, Country
Chevrolet, Dominion Resources, The Lake Anna Business
Partnership, Anna's Marine Center, Lake Anna Outfitters and
Woods & Waters Magazine. There will be annual ramp passes
awarded from High Point Marina and Sturgeon Creek Marina for
the heaviest fish weighed in at 10 am and 1 pm. Habervision
sunglasses and other sponsor items plus an event t-shirt in
goodie bags are also given to all the teams. All this, plus a
BBQ for the competitors after weigh-in await you if you try
and Claim The Cup! There will even be an award for the
heaviest striper brought to the scales!
Each team will try and bring the heaviest five-fish limit to
the scales of Tournament Director Dave Fauntleroy. The
winners will not only collect the prize money but will have
the honor of Claiming The Cup and putting their names on the
actual trophy for 2010. Over 100 invitations have been sent
to the top anglers that have fished Lake Anna this year from
circuits like Championship Teams, LAPR Bass Series, High
Point Marina's Friday Night Tournaments, Sturgeon Creek
Marina's Tuesday Night and Sunday Morning Tournaments and
Fishers Of Men Tournament Trail. If you didn't qualify, you
are still welcome to fish as an at-large team. Entry
fee is $70 per team for at-large invitations.
Last
year the event drew over 65 teams. When all fish were
weighed it was Larry Wollersheim and Preston Cox that took
the Cup with a little over 14 pounds of Lake Anna largemouth
bass. Anna's Marine Center brought TRACKER and Nitro boats
for spectators to inspect and High Point Marina was the host
on a beautiful early November day.
"The goal of the Lake Anna Cup is to further
introduce Lake Anna to new anglers that might have only
fished here once as well as publicize the great fishing we
have here even after Labor Day," noted organizer C.C.
McCotter.
For an invitation contact organizer C.C. McCotter at

Last
year's LKA Cup Winners Larry Wollersheim and Preston Cox are
awarded The Lake Anna Cup by 2008 champion Darrin Bach, LABP
President Dick Dickens, Anna's Marine Center's Dee Kidd,
High Point Marina's Carlos Wood and organizer C.C. McCotter.
